what i want today: sigerson morrison flats

argh! i want these so badly it's causing me actual, physical pain. to tell the truth, i've lusted after this style (a classic sigerson design) for at least a year now...but i always end up feeling like i should wait until they go on sale. the thing is, they never do. and it drives me completely crazy!

every fall, sigerson releases new color combos, and i spend an exorbitant amount of time choosing a favorite - my all-time fave was a gorgeous royal blue with orangey-yellow jewels. the black/grey version above would be infinitely more versatile, though. now, if only i could stumble across a spare $395 in one of my coat pockets, i'd be all set.

(check them out in mirrored silver, too....so fabulous! probably not as practical as the black...but then again, the silver would go so nicely with the outfit i'm wearing today, whereas the black would not. and the mirroring makes them infinitely more cool than the millions of other silver shoes out there. agh, decisions!)

what i want today: sigerson morrison shoes

man, 10 minutes on sigerson morrison's website, and i'm as smitten as i was when i first discovered the line years ago. i'm not saying there aren't some definite misses in the collection from time to time, but overall...yum.

honestly, these orange patent heels are just fabulous, though. my favorite thing about all of my sigerson shoes is that they're just a little bit eccentric, but in that timeless way that keeps me going back, no matter what's "in" that season. my green suede d'orsays are still among my all-time favorite purchases. and i can definitely see these beauties being next on the list.

of course, i'd probably get more wear from these lovely patent flats...as i live in flats 95% of the time. but the heels are just so fun and exciting. hmm.

check out all of the pretties here or here...happy spring!

what i want today: bottomless pit of money for shoes....

argh. i have been so, so, so good about shoes lately. and now, it's fall, and there are at least a dozen pair(s?) of shoes that i'm completely dying for. i am so very in need of a money tree!

first, as you know, i had to have those gorgeous red suede pumps. not so much practical, but literally could not stop myself. too fabulous.

then it occurred to me that i actually have no presentable boots for fall. given the size of my shoe closet, you can imagine my shock. boots are not exactly cheap, especially given my tastes. ideally, i think at a minimum, i'd need a casual pair (flat) and a dress pair (heel). for the flats, i'm leaning heavily toward the dharma boot by delman, but i'm also seriously considering loeffler randall's matilde boot.

for the dress boots, i'm a little stumped...but i'm thinking maybe the thing to do is be a teensy bit fiscally responsible and pick up these very classic j.crew boots for a very reasonable $225. as soon as they have a free shipping promo, of course. i actually think these are a pretty perfect dress boot. pointy toe, but not too pointy, and a very walkable 2.5" heel makes them workable for skirts or pants.

then flats. how is it possible that i have no silver shoes, and no black round-toe flats? seriously. i have gold, and i wear them all.the.time. but sometimes, one needs silver. i'm pretty sure i've chosen the classic sue london flats for that purpose, though i'm still deciding between a true silver and a yummy gunmetal color (anyone with input, please speak up!). i just love that they fold up - makes them completely perfect for travel, as i'm always looking for a way to squeeze one more pair of shoes into my suitcase. plus, the metallic shoe really is the answer to the "i have no shoes to go with this outfit" dilemma almost every single time.

the black flats are easier, but expensiver (yes yes, send your grammar police somewhere else). sigerson morrison is my drug of choice in this case. i'm lusting after these, but may decide these are a bit more lasting in terms of style. but the studs on those first ones are so freaking cute. agh.

and then, of course, the chunky heels, they are everywhere this fall. i was trying desperately to avoid them, but then those most fabulous ladies over at bunnyshop had to point out some amazing cuteness from frye (yes, i was shocked too). i think i have to have these, either in cognac or grey. grey would be much more "of the season" i realize. but the cognac would be super fun too, and the color is just fabulous. plus, $150...much cheaper than almost anything else i've posted here. (ps: ahem, if someone buys the last size 11 while i'm debating, i'm going to be SO annoyed!)

yeah. um. so that's the problem. i'm up to about $1500 in shoes, and i haven't even been out to check out the new barneys that just opened in san francisco. plus, i still want about 7 fall dresses besides. as i said: argh.

so, anyone know where to find that money tree???

and one more....

because the sigerson sale has me obsessed, and because these amazing flats are just too pretty not to share. if i didn't have literally the exact same shade of gold in a tory burch reva flat, i'd snap these up in a new york minute. in fact, it's particularly distressing because...i like these better (shhh....).

summer shoes are calling....

lots of great summer sales happening now...too many, really. but a couple of shoe sales you have to at least check out.

plazatoo, a site that has an amazing selection, if somewhat spotty customer service, is having their spring blowout. score loeffler randall's bianca flats for $199, sigerson morrison's darling laverne flats for $139 (down from $275), and the gorgeous classic longchamps leather tote for $429 (down from $720).

another favorite, barefoot tess, is offering a 35% storewide discount with code BFT. there are a small handful of shoes that aren't eligible for the discount, but the vast majority of the site is up for grabs. my picks would be the adorable french sole rhythm flats (which haven't been on sale anywhere else yet), or the loeffler randall lark python flats, which i think would go with just about everything in my closet right now.

happy hunting!

deal(s) of the day: sale shoes - designer edition

i was spending a little too much time over at notcouture last night, and found there a number of deals much too lovely to keep to myself.

juicy couture continues to surprise me. if they keep this up, i'm going to have to stop mocking them entirely.

these sandals ($101) are a great way to bring a little ombre to your summer...and on sale, too. i love the yellow, but if you're feeling extra girly, pink is the perfect choice. nab either at bergdorf goodman, where you'll also get out tax-free (unless you live in NYC).

for a more understated style, i love these t-strap beca sandals from gryson. yellow and grey IS definitely the hottest color combo du jour, and these little flats make it clear why. nab them for $225 at funky lala.

and last, but certainly not least, more sigerson morrison love. these beauties ($145) are absolutely everything i've been looking for in a casual black flat - love the modern mary jane styling, the intricate detail on the strap, and that thick elastic around the top is going to keep these comfy in any weather. they're lovely in black, but that fabulous bright gold would be oh-so-fun too. decisions, decisions.

can it really be true? latest target lines announced...

it's like they raided my closet - both real and fantasy. reports have surfaced that the newest designers for target's cheap/chic accessory collections are anya hindmarch handbags and sigerson morrison shoes. here's hoping they're less disappointing than the last few have been....because if the target versions are even half as fabulous as these designers' high-end lines, i'll be beside myself.

both collections are set to debut october 12 - mark your calendars! and in the meantime, stay tuned for more details - i promise to keep you posted.

and speaking of sigerson....

their fall line is finally up on their website, and trickling out to retailers (though no belle boots on their official website yet). still, some definite darlings to be had! pick them up here or here :)

come to mama!

i'm loving these boots by theory. they look suspiciously like the sigerson morrison boots i've been coveting, with the notable differences that (a), i can actually locate them online, and (b) in my size!

anyone have any experience with theory shoes?? love their clothes, but i'm sooo picky about quality on shoes.

thursday's "on the cheap" IOTD

so, with patent leather and red being all the rage this fall, i can't help thinking these little beauties are just the ticket for a wallet-conscious fashionista. you could always go with the classic red patent ballet flat, available in a number of permeations this fall (from jeffrey campbell, me too, and sigerson morrison, to name a few). but i'm kind of digging the ruffle, and i think these would be really fun peeking out from grey flannel pants.

and believe it or not, $16.99. yes, really. payless.com - run fast!

found a pic of the sigerson boots

from last week:

fabulous, i know. if anyone spots them in a size 11, let me know!

Thursday, August 17, 2006

i may have changed my "must have" boot....

....for one featured in the september issue of "lucky" (see post below).

i can't find a pic of it online other than in the online 'lucky shoe guide' video, but here it is, in all its fabulousness! (it's the first shoe featured in the video)

belle by sigerson morrison - fabulous color, and a good compromise between two other pair i was looking at, since i think the style is more casual, but the color lends it to dressier looks as well. can't wait to wear them with a navy print shirtdress!

they aren't released for a few weeks, but i'm on the list for the preorder :)

sale of the day - sassanova

while i can't take advantage of the fabulous sale going on at this darling site, if you happen to be a size 10 (eur 40), i predict you will fall down on your knees and cry tears of joy when you see the deals happening on this site (there are other sizes too, but the size 10 girl definitely seems to be getting the lion's share of this sale).

some of my favorites include:

these emma hope bone slingbacks, down from $460 to $184:

sigerson morrison wedge sandals - $395 down to $158:

fabulous hollywould flat espadrilles - $370 down to $148:

these darling ricrac canvas pumps - i have no idea what i'd do with them, but i'm sure i'd figure it out! $465 down to $186, also by hollywould:

and i'm sorry, but if you happen to be a size 5.5, i think you'd be completely insane not to purchase these crazy but cool anaconda boots by my new favorite designer, loeffler randall - $635 down to $254:

get 'em while they're hot, kids - the summer sales this year are definitely out of this world!

blogging about blogs....

so i was all prepared to link you today to some of my favorite shallow blogs....but now i'll have to save that for another day. all i have to say is this: read the July 18 entry, and picture me shouting a great big "amen" to everything the blogger said. seriously....toe amputation? i mean, i love my shoes like children, but that's going a bit far, even for me.

in honor of such a sad state of affairs, today's item of the day is a gorgeous pair of flats from belle by sigerson morrison. best news - they're on sale! how i love the end-of-season sales....i'm going to be so hooked up for next summer! and after reading shoesense's revelations, it's all about the flats, baby!
